Our speaker is Phillip Faulkner. Phillip teaches Action and Sports Photography at UGA’s Center for Continuing Education. He has a degree in Photography from Gwinnett Tech and currently freelances for UGA’s athletic department. You can see some of his outstanding sports photos at dawgprints.net/sports.
There are special challenges in making a great sports photo. Since these are often “once in a lifetime” opportunities, it’s important to do the best job possible of capturing that shot. Phillip will tell us some of the tips and tricks of the trade, including how to position yourself and set up the shot, capture the image, and then process it for maximum impact. Whether it’s your son catching that touchdown pass, your granddaughter scoring the winning goal, or your dog jumping into the air to fetch a ball, you’ll learn how to make a better photo of the event.
