Photo Destination Day Trips & Tips
• • • Second in the Member Requested Series • • •
Have a spare day? Looking for somewhere new to shoot? This meeting is for you. Four APG members will share details about their favorite photo locations within a day’s drive of Athens.
Angi Hansen will discuss George L. Smith State Park near Metter in Southeast Georgia (http://gastateparks.org/GeorgeLSmith). This park is best known for the refurbished Parrish Mill and Pond, a combination gristmill, saw mill, covered bridge and dam built in 1880, and thick stands of cypress and tupelo trees draped with Spanish moss.
Chuck Murphy will discuss Hurricane Shoals County Park in Jackson County, Georgia (http://www.hurricaneshoalspark.org/). This park features a historic grist mill and many rescued historic buildings along a scenic flowing river.
Rosemary Woodel will describe a number of her favorite photo locations featured in her travel blog “ROSEMARY’S ADVENTURES” (http://rosemaryadventures.blogspot.com/2016/04/2-adventures-with-2-debbies.html).
And finally, barring technical difficulties we will show a slide show presentation from Lindsey London describing some of his favorite spots.
We also encourage everyone to share their favorite spots with the group in discussions following the presentations. See you there!
