DESSERT SOCIAL AT 6:30 PM

Chuck Murphy and Jena Johnson are Georgia’s representatives to the international “Meet Your Neighbours” (MYN) photography project. This initiative involves over 70 photographers on six continents taking photos of their local plants and wildlife in a specific, uncluttered style. These photos are then shared on the MeetYourNeighbours.net website for the enrichment and enjoyment of viewers around the world.

Jena and Chuck will discuss and demonstrate the joys and challenges of doing MYN-style photography required for participation in the project. They will share the details of the equipment they’ve purchased and built to create their photographs.

This APG presentation ties into the exhibit of Chuck and Jena’s Meet Your Neighbours photos at the Georgia State Botanical Garden’s visitor center, starting with the opening reception on Sunday, August 27th, 2-4 PM. The exhibit runs through October 8th.

Jena enjoys macrophotography and works as an entomologist at UGA. Chuck is an award-winning nature photographer. Their works have been displayed in many local art venues and have also been published in a variety of local and national print media.
