OPERATIONS STATEMENT
The Lyndon House Arts Center is operated by the Athens-Clarke
County Department of Leisure Services as a center of excellence for the
benefit and cultural enrichment of youth and adults. Gallery exhibitions,
art classes, festivals, workshops, art meetings, and special events aim
to provide area citizens with a positive experience in the visual arts,
encouraging them to appreciate the arts and to develop their creative
talents.
The Lyndon House Arts Center also places importance
on youth education and outreach arts activities which reflect the values
of integrity, quality, diversity and creativity held by our community.
These values serve as a guide for the selection and exhibition of artwork
for the galleries. As a local government program the Lyndon House Arts
Center reserves the right to present in a controlled access area, or
to deny exhibition of any material which may not be appropriate for all
audiences.
Children
visiting the galleries must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
for the safety of the artwork and for art work content.
The Lyndon House Arts Center is
a facility of Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department and is
supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts
(GCA) through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA
also receives support from its partner agency, the National Endowment
for the Arts.
