  • Photo Walk: Waterfalls, Sunset, and Astro Photography
    Date: November 4th–5th
    NEW TIME: Leaving the Epps Bridge Kroger parking lot at 10:00 AM. Meet at the far side of the Kroger parking lot adjacent to the cigar shop (5 Points Cigar Shop and Lounge on the other end of the Larry’s Giant Subs building). It’s probably best to drive a few cars.
    ****We will not get back to Athens until approximately 3:15 AM
    Location: Highlands/Cashiers area – North Carolina
    Agenda: We will photograph several waterfalls in the Highlands area then photograph the sunset at sunset rock in Highlands. We will have dinner in Highlands then travel to Cashiers to photograph the Milky Way at Silver Run Falls (Silver Run Rd, Cashiers, NC 28717)
    Note: the Milky Way is best around midnight so we will be back super late.
    *****For those who can’t come all day, you can meet us at Sunset rock. Sunset is 6:36 PM. Ravenel Park Road, 35.04687, -83.18714, Highlands, NC.
    *****Or you can drive your own car and do as much or as little as you want.
    *****You must sign an APG waiver to participate.

  • 43rd Juried Exhibition – The Lyndon House. Guest Juror, Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Chief Curator at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis
    Submission Days: Thursday, January 25 and Friday, January 26, 2018. Start preparing now as there is always a crush at the printers and framers in town. More info to come.
  • APG member Wade Sheldon has 5 coastal landscape prints in the show Warm Days, Cool Nights, a 4-artist exhibition hosted by Classic Galleries at The Classic Center in downtown Athens. The show was curated by the Lyndon House, and will run from June 4 to November 12, 2017. A closing reception will be held prior to the Classic Center Cultural Arts Foundation dinner on November 7, 2017 (invitation only).
  • Someone is looking for a wedding photographer for 6 hrs in Monroe on Feb. 24th. Budget is low so looking for a starter. Contact us at the email below.
  • We are looking for someone to take over setting up the dessert social. We’ll provide the money for the drinks and goodies. You just have to buy them and get them there on time. If two people would like to do it together then that is all the better. Please don’t be shy.

Join APG and special guest speakers, Phillip and Eileen Blume, as they show you how to add cinema-quality video to your skill set. Whether you’re an aspiring pro or your only gear is an iPhone, you’ll be amazed how accessible and fun video can be.

©2015 Blume PhotographyPhillip and Eileen Blume are international award-winning wedding and portrait photographers, and respected leaders in the photo industry. As socially conscious creatives, they not only travel the globe producing beautiful images but also believe in the power of visual media to change the world, as with their 2011 documentary film Lost Boys of Paradise. (The feature-length film represented their first ever attempt at shooting video.) Having transformed their home studio in Clarke County into a top brand recognized worldwide, they now work with clients in New York, London, Manila, Antigua, and beyond. As educators, the pair instructs thousands of fellow photographers. Phillip is a regular contributor to the popular Shutter Magazine, while he and Eileen appear annually at WPPI and ShutterFest, two of photography’s leading conventions. They have been featured on broadcasts of Photographers Ignite and CreativeLive, and are especially passionate about their workshops and coaching program for photographers. The Blumes live near Athens, GA, with their two young daughters and are currently in the process of adopting their third child.
